I had two sows - unfortunately fighting. Ended up with babies as they appeared to be pregnant in the first place.
Correct me if I am wrong. I believe mother and two daughters could be a better company. I wonder what is your experience.
And at which point they will not need mothers milk. Should I separate them when they are 6 weeks old? Or they will stop on their own?

Hi! Mum and daughters usually work best. Fall-outs between pregnant and nursing sows are not at all uncommon and a good percentage of sows will not go back together again afterwards.

Baby boars become sexually active between 3-5 weeks and baby sows have their first season beween 4-6 weeks. Mums come into season within hours of giving birth and then again every 15-17 days thereafter; they will mate with their sons if you do not remove them at 3 weeks old.

Baby sows can just stay on with their mums. Once mum has decided that they are weaned, they lose the special protection as nursing babies and will be put into their place at the bottom of the hierarchy quite emphatically. You have to sit through that and NOT intervene even through it can look pretty rough, especially with the babies protesting in the most dramatic of ways. it is NOT painful though! Please only use hideys with two exits if it all possible.
