Hello,

Sorry if this sounds like a reeeeaaallly thick question, but can guinea pigs catch human illnesses such as a bad cold? I've got a real humdinger of one at the moment and I'm scared to cuddle/touch my Fraggle too much in case he catches a strain of it and/or it mutates into a guinea pig type of cold!

Is this possible?!?! :mal: :mal: :mal: :mal: :mal: :mal:

Thank you

Guinea pigs don't usually get a normal human cold, but we recommend members who are struck down with flu, bad colds or norovirus to please use their common sense and good hygiene around them (hand washing/using disinfectant hand gel) and to keep from cuddling their piggies while still acute.
