I have a new 3 month old Amercan shorthair female that does not seem to want to chew on anything except the inside of a paper tube I made for her which is in her playpen She gets plenty of timothy hay, the proper veggies and some alfalfa. Her teeth are a fine length so no problem there. Will she begin to chew on harder sticks as she gets older? I have only had adult and senior pigs before. Thank you for any help.

Eating lots of hay will keep her teeth in good shape, I don't think you need worry if she does not chew on wood. Only one of mine does and the others' teeth are fine too!

Neither of my pigs chew on wood. They sometimes chew cardboard but that's about it. Plenty of grass and hay is enough for their teeth

None of my 5 piggies will chew wood, they rather like willow toys and love any kind of plain cardboard! Hay is what keeps their teeth down anyway :)

Mine show varying amounts of interest in wood.
Eddi is our real chewer, and will destroy a willow ball in hours.
Lucy quite likes to chew.
Oreo has the occasional nibble of stuff that Eddi has already all but destroyed, and the only thing Ruby ever chews is my fingers :))

I bought mine some willow sticks and not one of them has touched them. They have a few wooden toys and a willow ball. Not a single nibble on any of them!

alot of mine chew willow tunnels and balls, ive one that chews a wooden kebab style chew, and some that chew the bars for attention,!

The hay is the most important thing in keeping the teeth properly worn. A lot of pigs don't like wood chews or show them any real interest, which is fine provided they have unlimited hay.

I've stopped buying wooden toys for my girls because they don't bother with them. Actually they dont really bother with any shop bought toy. They much prefer cardboard. In fact they love cardboard. And hay of course!
