Goldie
Adult Guinea Pig
I am so sad to say that Milly has passed away. I adopted her from the RSPCA at Walsall in November, along with her friend Molly.
She has been neglected before arriving at the RSPCA and was particularly troubled with bumblefoot.
We overcame her bumblefoot with visits to the vet and the final treatment of Baytril lasting for one month which seemed to do the trick.
She had been fine, she was happy and loved sitting in her new hutch overlooking the garden from her "patio window". But tonight when I went to tuck them in for the night, Milly seemed to throw herself over the food bowls near the hutch door. It was as if she was trying to tell me something. It was very odd.
I took her out and cuddled her trying to see what was wrong but she passed away in my arms within about 10 minutes. There was nothing I could do.
I am just so shocked and saddened ... I can't stop crying. Yesterday, there seemed nothing wrong.
I was hoping that we would have lots more years together ... but she has now gone!
I will miss Milly just so much and Molly will also.
I loved her dearly. I really don't know why she had to go.
My Milly ...
Run free little Milly with no pain from your feet and enjoy the forever green grass. I will always love you deeply xx
