My boys are finally enjoying life!

When I first bought my baby male guinea pigs, they were overly timid, frightened of every noise ... couldn't go outside as we had no garden, didn't get enough time out of their cage ... at one point I genuinly considered rehoming them for their own good.

However we recently moved home and the Guinea Pigs have such a great life now! I smile whenever I see them popcorning through the day! I just wanted to share with people who understand my love for the cavvies what a smile it brings to your face to see them so happy!

So, now they get to spend half a day in the run outside ... after this they're usually knackered and flake out in their cage, too full of grass to do much else!

Then around 9pm they get "carpet time" where they come out of their cage and have the run of the entire living room! we build them tents, tunnels, they have balls to play with and they even get a special salad prepared for them full of carrot, lettuce and cucumber ...

Our boys are now happy as can be and go in a major strop when they're put back in their cage! It's just so great to see them happy ...

Yesterday, the more confident of the two actually jumped onto my knee for a cuddle, I can't put into words how that made me feel ^) Just wanted to share my new found love for Guinea Pig life with people who will understand!

I'm so pleased it's all worked out so well for you and your piggies. It's incredibly heartwarming when you have earned their trust to the degree that yours have. It's been a few years since I've had pigs jumping up and walking all over me, but I do have one or two who will stand on me or lay out next to me.

That's wonderful, really made me happy for you. I love it when my piggies come to me, but they don't jump up onto me - they tend to just stand on my feet and reach up my legs and weeble!

I'm so pleased the boys have settled in. Isnt it wonderful when you finally gain their trust and they dont automatically run away from you. I have a very tame piggy who has the run of the upstairs when I am not at work. He not only leaps onto my knee but tries to run up my legs for a cuddle. When he hears me coming up the stairs he comes out onto the landing to meet me. Enjoy the bond you now have with your piggies and cherish every special moment.

The more you put into a pet, the more you get back - and you give yours Heaven on earth! Freely given love from a shy or neglected pet is one of the most precious gifts we can get in life. So, yes, enjoy and be rightly proud!

I let mine have the run of the living room throughout the day, if they are not outside on the lawn, and they are happy piggies, indeed!
