I have two rescue boys that have been with me about 12 weeks, my problem is they are so bloomin messy! thay poop constantly and anywhere!:( I love bringing them in my living room for a run but don't think my carpet (or my nose) can take anymore! they also have a run which they go in.
Are all piggys messy? or just my boys? lol!

My boys are messy, especially Basil. When I clean him out I put him back in and he runs round the cage dragging the hay with him, he's constantly tipping his food bowl over. He'll start off weeing and pooping in the corner of the cage, then it's like he can't be bothered so just does it wherever he is :(|) Have to say he doesn't poop much when he's out of his cage though.

Dillon and Harley aren't quite as messy, but they're learning :))

My boys can be very messy too :P
Although, I always find that my youngest boar, who is a 1 year old, is VERY messy compared to my other one.

x

haha...
i find my two boys the messyest by far...!
i can clean my girlies out every 4 days...but the boys need it everyother...!
they poo everywhere (where as the girlies use a corner) and then they tread in it and walk it everywhere...!... and i have to constantly wash their feet so they dont get sore feet and they get food everywhere...!
so i think boys are deffo messy... especially when its two together...!
lol
i find they drink about 3 bottles of water a day aswell...compared to all the others that drink about half...

smelly boys...!
:(|)

My 3 boys are messy, they poo everywhere in there cage, it drives me insane! Also they throw there food bowl down the ramp, it dont matter how many times I tell them food is for on the upper level they dont listen (mind does any male?) My babies are messy too but not quite as bad. (but then my human boys are messy sods too, though thankfully they dont poo everywhere lol)

My new boys are messy little bugs:(|)
No doubt by tomorrow morning their cage will be trashed and poop all over the fleece, pee all over & hay dragged from the food part of their cage across the fresh fleece just to make my job a little harder:(|)

However Henry and Pigglet are super goodx)

Henry has taken to his corner litter tray and loves to keep his cage clean, Pigglet is following his example and keeping things very clean and tidy!:)

All 4 of my boys are messy little sods!

Patchy and the babies all leave a trail across the carpet of poops and wee wees too grrr! Are there such things as piggy nappies I wonder.....mind you, imagine how often I'd have to change them...!

Scruff is the only one who no longer messes on the carpet - he actually jumps back in his cage when he needs to go then comes back out again bless him! Wish the other 3 would take a leaf from his book...!

Mind you - Scruff loves to make a mess in his cage! Just like kayleighjennifer above said - he will drag all his hay from upstairs down the ramp and all over the fleece grrrr! In fact - I have just cleaned his cage and he is in the garden at the moment - will probably be about 5 minutes after he is put back in before it's all messy again....

Wow, I've messier girls opposed to my boys though! Anyway now with only one boy left, my girls are definitely messier.

They'd pull the whole bunch of hay off the rack and dirty their towels there! Even though I've la harder time cleaning but I guess they enjoy it more.

My girls poops all over as well, though :p

Your not the only one! My boys are messy wee beasts but they seem quite content in lying in the filth. Not that they ever do for too long. Sometimes it's hard keeping up with them. I have Stig and Winston on fleece just now, but as soon as they're c&c cage is finished it back to woodshavings!

Agree with Hachi475, my boars use a litter tray so it helps keep the poopies in one place. They always wee in the tray too so have no soggy patches on the fleeces :(|) Saying that, one did a brilliant slingshot poop at my daughter the other morning, we were helpless with laughter at him.
The girls though :{ They are really messy although use their hay box as a loo generally, poop and wee wherever they fancy :)) Tsk ;)

Out of seven pigs my lone boar (waiting for ze op) makes the biggest mess of them all. The pair of boys are neat little guys and stick to one spot generally and while the girls are mucky they can't match Chiv.

I am pretty sure he tries to poop in the middle of his cage to make sure he covers every inch. :))

My girls are messy too, they have even been known to squirt their wee up the side of the correx rolleyes

I have to say, my three girls are very clean, considering! At the end of the week though, there is quite a bit of poop buried in their toilet corners, but other than that, they are reasonably clean. Yay! Haha. x

I reckon all guinea pig males are indeed messy, as mine too:D but they ate food trained. Bert knows that he has to go at the upper floor as his foods should be there and ben remains on the bottom. I have to have it separate as Ben eats everything and really fast whilst Bert is too slow and make his time in eating. Really good that they both know where they should position when it's feeding time. But for poo and pee, everywhere they will lol
