My crazy little pig!

As some of you know poppy was really sick! She is such a little fighter she has pulled through brilliantly!
She is still taking antibiotic, but thinks its a game! She fights me for the syringe, she just loves what i have to give her!
I ask her if she wants some juice and she puts her head up and starts looking about like a right crazy pig! She is having 50 ml a day of this solution but would happily have 500ml!
Abolute nutty piggie! She makes me laugh so much as she is a little character!

It's good that she doesn't mind taking the medication. It must be alot easier for you that way.
I know how horrible it is to have to force it down them 8... it makes you feel like a big meanie!

She sounds insanely adorable!

wow! i never knew that it was possible for a piggie to enjoy his/her medication! :))she sounds like she has a great personality:)
 
This was my first time ever having to use a syringe to give a piggy medicine...Abby made me feel soooo badly for doing it... but Molly stepped in and started trying to lick Abby's chin...like telling her its going to be ok... aww. I'm so glad your piggy takes it sooo well.
 
AWW I've said it before she's so pretty!

When we had to give our piggies antibiotics they had the concentrated stuff and the vet said to mix with a little ribeina. I have to say they would LOVE it mixed with that and be biting the syringe trying to get it out faster. Certainly made the whole thing easier.

The vet said she would hate the anitbiotics, but she loves it! She has to take 3 different syringefulls and loves them all - got to say, if i was her i wouldn't fancy them! She fights to keep the syringe and wants more! Makes it a doddle to give her them!
The even better news is that last time i weighed her, 6 days ago when she was ill, she had dropped to 400g - today she has just weighed in at 560g, although she had just had some syringes of liquid and food which may make her a little heavier she is demolishing all her food and defo putting weight back on!
She is off for a little run on the lawn in a bit which will make her very happy!

So good to hear; gut infections can be so dangerous because of the enormous weight loss.

Come on, Poppy, you'll be back up again! :)):)):))
 
I had a similar experience last night with Finlay to whom I gave Calpol to try to calm the skin irritation and incessant scratching. He just yanked the syringe off my hand... :{
He used to get jealous when we were syringe-feeding Bertie his mushed pellets and would always wait at the entrance of the cage for some... Bless!

Agreed, it's much easier and more pleasant than having to immobilise the pig and force it down...:(
 
Aww shes an absolute sweetie isnt she. I have to say i havent had any experience with syringe feeding but it looks like shes being a very well behaved patient :(|)
