Iv just found little Mickie in a forever sleep. Its come as such a shock as he has had no signs of illness and was eating happily only a couple of hours ago. Run free Mickie. Don't forget me and Alfie who will miss you dearly.
Poor Alfie is left alone now.

So sorry Rebecca. :( Nice that he didn't suffer too much and it was quick but awful to find him like that especially as he hadn't been ill. (((hugs))) x

So sorry to hear this Rebecca - how old was he - bless him.

RIP wee man.

Love Helen.

I got him from the pets at home adoption so his age was a guess at 10months, he was still a baby.

Very sorry, what a horrid shock for you :(

Sleep well Mickie

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was very handsome. Rest well, dear Mickie. xx

It is always hard when we lose our piggies but in some ways harder when we haven't had time to say goodbye.8...8...

Hold onto the memories of Mickie & know that he will be running over the rainbow bridge with all the piggies who have gone before him.

Hugs & squeals from my manly trio - Jerry, Legolas & Pippin - to you & Alfie.

Michele

Alfie (his cagemate) has been a little quiet today but they have been together since babies and used to always be cuddled up together so i think its to be expected. I'm trying to give him as much laptime as possible so he doesnt feel too lonely. i am hopefully looking to find alfie a friend quite soon because i dont want him to be on his own.

i thought i would just post this final pic of mickie and alfie together

I feel really bad at just going and getting another guinea pig, it feels as if I'm just replacing him which is not the case at all, i just dont want alfie to be unhappy and lonely.

That's a really cute picture of the 2 of them. Don't feel bad at going to get another friend for Alfie - it helps him in his grieving having another mate and stops him being sad. Animals are resilient creatures and he will love having a new friend for company.

I lost a pig before Christmas & one 3 weeks ago. I have 3 pigs left & I am now getting 2 more babies. Legolas lost his best friend & really seems to be 'lost' in himself. As hard as it is I know that he needs someone & I have to do this for him - out of love.

Don't feel guilty at thinking of Alfie's needs & I can assure you that you will never forget Mickie nor will you 'replace' him. the next pig you get will be his own character & personality. :)
