My Early Christmas Surprise!

I got home from work today to an early Christmas surprise! We've recently been discussing the possibilty of adding to our pair of girls and my intention was to take in a rescue in the spring/summer once the weather gets warmer, as per my 'trio of sows?' post. However, my other half obviously had other ideas!

I came in to find Pippa and Willow's old cage all set up and filled with hay, a new pigloo and a little pig!

First impressions are that she seems to be very confident, in that she's been munching hay and pellets all evening and keeps poking her nose out of her house to see what's going on. She has very dark blue eyes (which don't show on this photo) and her little ears are grey on the edges. I couldn't resist a quick cuddle before bedtime so grabbed a quick snap!

She'll be living on her own for a week or so until she'd settled and then I'll introduce her to the girls. (I'm really nervous about this already, and we've only had this baby a matter of hours!)

Now, the downside is that he got her from our local P@H :( (please don't shout! :( ) I've double checked to make sure she's a little girl (she is!) and hopefully she's not pregnant, as I know shops are notorious...

Oh and I have no idea what her name will be, so am open to any suggestions.
 
Ah how lovely and what a great surprise, she is beautiful.

I won't shout at you, I admit I bought mine from PAH and I have never had a problem with the sexes being wrong, whatever she still deserves a home, it's not her fault. Have fun with your new baby.

I think Snowdrop sounds quite nice but I am sure there will be lots of other names offered lol.

She should have a christmassy name like Holly, Ivy or Noelle :)
 
I'll second Kira's idea or something to do with white/snow.

May i suggest Blanche in memorium of the recently deceased actress wo played Blanche on Corrie?
 
Awww, she's gorgeous! I like the idea of something white, or christmassy as a name. I'm sure she'll get on fine with your bunch... she looks so adorable! x

Maybe just very politely explain to your OH why petshops are bad,either way he didnt know and was just surprising you,you are so lucky to have an OH who would get you a piggy lol
She looks to have some himi in her!
As she gets older her points should start to appear,goodluck she will be very happy with you x

P.S i looked at her and the name Sydney sprang to mind and its a great australian city too,other names could be

Oh she is gorgeous and your OH is a flipping treasure how wonderful of him to get you such a super surprise. As for names my OH said how about 'Wee Grinch' honestly I sometimes wonder about him rolleyes

AWWW that's sweet and she look slike my Orson even down to the grey on the ears and the eyes.

I do think there is some Himalayan in her somewhere (Can you get Himi's with Lilac points?) as her ears and toes are tinged grey

I've told Pippa and Willow that they'll be meeting someone special soon, but they were more interested in the hay I had in my hands rolleyes :(|)

I like some of the names suggested too, she's known as 'Little-pig' at the moment!

I don't want to do anything today, just sit and watch her! :))
 
I like the idea of Blanche, or maybe by her real name of Maggie? What a wonderful tribute that would be!? Or Princess, SugarPlum, Lily/Lilly, TigerLilly, Milkey, Mika or Faith (as christmas is a time of religion, faith in our lord?)

Do you like human names or cutesy names?

awww shes a beauty i like the name angel or angel eyes i also think tia is realy cute name too or star. i dont think my o/h would be so thaught full after loosing our rabbit he is now saying no more mallethead
 
She is beautiful! Even if she's from the "wrong" place, it is a lovely present from your hubby!

I think she is just a standard himi x and only time will tell what her colouring will be,i do think she will get darker points though;)

My 2 came from P@H too so I can't give anyone a row and at least they have went to an extremely good home, which is the most important thing.

I think she should have a Christmassy name.
 
Thankyou for all the name suggestions guys! I love them, although still can't decide on anthing yet... rolleyes. My OH has also sugested Duffel, Pixie, Skye, Bree or Mouse. Argh, I'd be no good if we ever had children!

Anyway, 'Little-Pig' seems to be settling into her new home, I'm actually really surprised by her. She even stayed out in open when I walked past the cage earlier (and it took our other two a good few days for this to happen!)

I'll keep you posted on her progress and when (and if rolleyes ) she gets christened a name
 
How about Gina as she is so glamorous(as in Lolobridgida if you are old enough to remember the film star) My himalayan is called Gina and her sister is Gemma.
 
How about Frosty or Sugar-plum? It is really hard to choose names!

Lol! Tell me about it! My brother's just popped by and suggested 'Dave' or 'Piggie' rolleyes Thanks Mark, but I think I'll leave those off the list! (And I don't think our Dad would be too chuffed if took these choices, he's called Dave! :)) )

Have you decided on a name yet she's adorable?! xx>>> Blake was named after a footballer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (by my ex) and Harvey was named after the road I was living in at the time (Harborough Road). I think that the Christmas theme names are cute though I like Star or angel, or snowflake :)
 
She is beautiful. It doesn't matter where she is from now you have her and love her, so don't feel guilty. As far as being nervous about intros, I'm sure it will be fine. I rarely have problems introducing sows and I have 30! I hope she brings you a lot of joy and you find a lovely name :)
