Adult Guinea Pig
I've actually been naughty, there's been another pig in my house who's been here for 2 months and I've not introduced him to the forum!
His name is Gus he's about 7 months old and I am fostering him for the Wheek and Squeak rescue.
He was brought into rescue at 4 months old after his owners said he was biting them.
The rescue was full so I offered to foster him and to try and tame him and make sure he didn't bite before he went up for rehoming as I've had experience with Spike who was like that at that age.
He was pretty good for the first couple of weeks but once he'd got used to me he started trying to bite me. It's more of a hitting down on my hand with his front teeth rather than trying to bite me but it still hurts!
He is such a lively, feisty little abby cross. I love him to bits and am getting so much out of working with him. He's a quick learner, he happily takes food from me and lets me fuss him but will go for my hand when he's had enough but it's being held that he really doesn't like.
After 2 months he'll now sit on my lap for 5 minutes at a time. It doesn't sound much but we went from me not even being able to pick him up out of his 'shuttle' box, to getting him on my lap and him going for my hands so this is a real break though.
He needs constant stimulation so he'll sit if he's got food but he's also happy if I sit on the floor next to the pen with Ash, Matilda and Amelia. He loves watching them and that seems to keep him entertained.
He has the loudest wheek ever! I think he thinks he's in competition with the other pigs and he is actually louder than the other 9 put together!
Cleaning time is the same every day. He has me in hysterics! He has bonded with the brush and gets very excited when it's time to sweep up! I finally managed to catch him on video.
