My Friend's Guinea Pig

My friend's guinea pig, Mr. Bojangles, is sick. His nose is runny, and he has mites. He bought him mite spray, and we have been giving him fresh orange Tang everyday, and the Tang doesn't seem to be helping his runny nose. Oh, he also has shivers to go with the runny nose, and his runny nose stinks. My friend doesn't have the money to take him to the vet right now, and neither do we. I have a plan though. Maybe her mom, and my mom can save up some money, and then put it together, and then take him to the vet.
 
The guinea needs to see a vet, in UK it is illegal to deny an animal veterinary treatment if it is needed, although I am unsure if such laws are in force in the US. Having a parent who will not pay or take the animal is a difficult position to be in, but if your friend is a minor (usually meaning under 16 ) then the guinea pig is her parents responsibility - the animals life, and any suffering it goes through, rests on their shoulders.

Tang is no use, he needs some Vit C dosed directly into his mouth, at least 50-100mg every day. If you can find a product called Oxbow Daily C (widely available in the USA) that would be the easiest way to help with this aspect.

But vitally, he needs a diagnosis and treatment from an experienced vet.
 
Needs to see a vet asap! The laws are generally the same in the US if your animals needs veterinary treatment you are required to seek it or you can be prosecuted for neglect. Can you tell i am addicted to animal planet animal cops! lol
