My two boys have lived in my garage for over a year and I’ve not noticed any smells other than hay.

Today I go into the garage and it absolutely stinks. Not a nice smell, or a boar smell, it’s like rubber or something not nice.

My husband and two kids have all had a sniff and they don’t think there is anything wrong.

I’ve sniffed the boys mouths, hutch and nether regions. All smell ok.

What is this smell?

What else is in the garage? It may not be the piggies. Have you started using a heater? Could it have some dust on it that got warm and smelt
Perhaps the boys have been doing a bit of scent marking on the bedding.

Could it just be stale air and a stuffy smell? I came back from a week away yesterday and the garage had the typical "garage pong" to it. I had to open the garage door and window to get a change of air so that when the piggies came home they would have nice fresh air in there.

Theres lots of stuff in the garage. Nothing new though. It doesn’t smell like scenting either. I’ve had a good sniff about but can’t find a source. It hits me as I walk into the garage. But I can’t locate where it’s coming from. I’ll see what it’s like in the morning.

It’s a bit like a rubber, petrol, arcid smell 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's a long shot, but I had a similar issue in the garage once and it turned out my motorbike had leaked some petrol onto the floor.
Do you have a lawn mower or anything that could have leaked fuel?
Even just a few drops can make it quite pong for a few days.

Yes there is a petrol mower in there. I’ll take a look around. It definitely smelt less strong this morning. 👍🏻
