I don't know how this site works but I created an account hoping someone could help me figure out what's wrong with my guinea pig. I was giving her cuddles like I do every day when I noticed a lump on the back of her head, kind of near her right ear. It's kind of hard but not too hard, it doesn't feel too much like a scab. She isn't acting abnormal, she's eating and drinking fine, pooping and peeing fine and she's also nine-months old. I want to take her to the vet but I also want to make sure it's something that needs to be taken to the vet first.

Firstly Welcome to the Forum.
You will always get lots of friendly advice here.
And well done for getting a picture - not always easy with wriggly guinea pigs.

From the photo it is hard to tell but the lump does look red, so I think she will need to see a vet.
It could be any manner of things, but lumps do tend to grow quickly in guinea pigs, so if it is sen now and does require treatment it should be easier to deal with than waiting until it is huge.

Good luck with it and please let us know how you get on.

Hi welcome to the forum. I would get it checked by a vet even for your own peace of mind. Does she live with any other pigs? Is she scratching at all?

It actually is very pink and looking again today it's hard and it feels like a scab. Last week my guinea got loose and she could have gotten a scratch, asking my friends and family they all said it looks "fine" I'm worried because It's my first guinea but in all honesty I don't have 100$ right now to take her to get checked,

no, she's all by herself, and she hasn't been scratching, she seems a bit lazy today but she didn't get much rest last night cause I kept looking at her trying to make sure she was alright. I'll just keep a close eye on her.
