Hi,
My little man, Buttons, is around 2 years old he is a little sweetie. I rescued him with another 4 piggies from the local woods after reading in the paper that someone had dumped loads there!. he was only around 2-3weeks old and we didnt find his mum :( I have become very attached to him and when i moved out for university it took me ages to find a landlord to allow me to bring him along.
hes my little angel, he is only a small boy and has never grown fat or large, i would describe him as petite, although he does still love his food.

this afternoon i noticed that one of his testicles seemed like it had gotten slightly bigger, but it almost looks like it has dropped (if that makes sense) and as disgusting as it sounds i felt it and he didnt squeal in pain so it cant hurt him, its not warmer and feels as soft as the other one. it doesnt seem any bigger it feels like its lose, it cant really explain it but its just a bit weird.
is this normal, i should hate anything to happen to him :(

needless to say if it does mean vets bills i would of course pay it but i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Whenever my male animals have had a change in their testicles (look, feel, size) from what's normal for them it has always results in having them removed.

Definitely get it checked out by a good vet. Warmth and increased size can be a sign of infection or other problems.... If he does need it removed, then make sure you have a good confident piggy savy vet and it should be able to be sorted. Paws crossed.

males sometimes get something called impaction as they get a little older. Its a weakening of the ceacal cavity (just before the anus). It can sometimes build up with poo. If he has any impaction at all I can imagine that it might push outwards on the testicles? Even if it is one more than the other. Have the vet check for impaction if you do go! Just to make sure :)

Hi there, it is properly nothing serious, though personally I would be taking your piggie to a vet just to be on the safe side

thing's you need to look out for,

feel both testicles, if the one that has grown in size has a Woody type feel to it then this could be a sign of testicular cancer, although not common it is something worth considering as it could be relatively easily treated it caught in time
