Yesterday I noticed my guinea pig wasn’t really like himself, when it came down to feeding him and taking him out of the cage. He’s normally outgoing and loud but he wasn’t like any of those. When I woke up this morning I heard a noise coming from his cage, I found him on his side kicking. I’m not sure if he had a seizure or not, but it resulted him into not moving his head and or arms anymore. His head is tucked into his arms when laying on my chest. He also just kicks his legs time from time. This morning he was shivering, and tweaking, and now he’s motionless. I fed him some things and gave her water but other than than she’s still not the same. She also has a runny nose, and eyes are crusty. Her breathing is stuffy. Can somebody please help me out, I don’t have enough money to go to the vet for her. I just need to know what all I can do to try and have her better. Thank you

I'm sorry but this seems too serious for home treatments, a vet is extremely needed. Does your vet do a payment plan? Can you borrow money from a friend or relative? It would also be good if you started syringe feeding your guinea pig soggy mushed up pellets or critical care, just to make sure her guts keep moving. Here is a guide: Complete Syringe Feeding Guide

Your girl (or boy?) needs to see a vet as soon as possible. This is classed as an emergency so please have her seen as a matter of urgency. Speak to them about a payment plan, or paying it back shortly. Hopefully you won’t be turned away because of the state of unwell that she is in. Or see if there’s someone willing to lend you the money to pay for the appointment and any medication that will be given.

Do read the link above and start syringe feeding - you can use mushed up pellets. Please also read the thread linked below
Emergency, Crisis and Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment

Let us know if you manage to get her to a vet.

PS it could be a URI which can be fatal. And there’s no way you can home treat - we don’t recommend that here anyway. Please try and get her seen.

PPS where are you located?

Thank you! My Father is not willing to spend anything on her* I will defiantly feed her, she has taken in water throughout the day. I’m located in Michigan

Can you possibly do chores or work around the house to pay your dad back? There seems to be a lot of emergency vets in Michigan from a quick google search. Just call one up and ask about a payment plan, and of course, talk to your dad about the money. Is there any way another parent could help? Or a sibling/ friend? Your guinea pig really needs to see a vet. How are they doing?

Definitely start syringe feeding mushed pellets and warm water, that way her digestive organs won't shut down and she's getting nutrients. I'd definitely advise taking her to a vet, because this sounds extreme. Maybe go with @Eva121 on doing chores to pay your dad back, or offering some sort of other help in turn. Good luck! Please keep us updated on your piggy, and good luck!

As @Siikibam has advised, step in with immediate syringe feeding of mushed up pellets (she needs the fibre). This will help keep piggy’s system going. But you absolutely must see a vet. There is nothing more you can do yourself. Vet care is absolutely essential

Do you have your own money or income that can be used to pay for the vet? I hate to say it but it sounds like your piggy is severely ill and likely to not make it without proper treatment.

She died last night. I’m still confused on what she had. Her body throughout the day lost movement. I tried so hard to keep her around. She was just 3 months old.. maybe a URI, as of what my mother thought. But thank you guys for the help!

I'm sorry! Sending hugs your way!

So sorry for your loss.
It sounds as if your piggy was seriously ill but you did all that could.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve
