my guinea pig is around 6 months old (female) and when i first got her she ate a lot of carrots, red peper, cucumber and stuff. i kept a break when she was sick and only fed her lettuce and red pepper, slowly she didnt want to eat cucumber anymore or carrots. she likes guinea pig threats and stuff but she just wont touch most vegetables, shes happy and popcorns a lot.
she drinks and eats pallets. i dont know if shes sick or just picky. Help~!

Does she eat hay? That should be most of her diet. I have 5 guinea pigs and they all have different veggies that they like and dislike, so that is normal. As long as she is eating enough hay and some pellets and is not losing weight, I wouldn’t worry about which veggies she is eating.

yeah she does eat hay and acts normal in general.. very active. i made a mistake by giving her romaine lettuce A LOT. when ever she asked for food i gave her a huge pile of romaine lettuce, i got worried it somehow made her sick or something (my vet said it was fine to give as much as i want, as long as not too much... but i read its not good cause it has a lot of calcium) do you know if its fine if i keep just giving her pallets, hay and romaine lettuce ? and how much a day
of lettuce. i try to make her happy by feeding her what she likes (shes very picky and only eats really fresh salad, and only the most green parts) cause she doesn't have any cage friends. i tried to give her a friend 4 times, but for some reason none of them got along with her. she also was put down when i first got her from the others in the store, and she got sick when she had another guinea pig with her

Here is the thread about how much of each type of food.
Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets
I think it works out about 1 cup of veg a day per adult pig. Too much is not good for them. At least 80% of what they eat should be hay - anyway I'll let you read the thread for yourself.

We would love to see pics of your piggy! She sounds very happy if she's popcorning.

shes a bit of a diva and very energetic c; i love her to bits, thank you c; ~! i might post some pictures later

:love:my little cutie, the second picture is when we first got her.. the first is from today, she hasnt grown a lot if at all in the past 3 months

She is lovely.
Romaine lettuce shouldn't be bad, at least I hope. Both my Finn and Lara absolutely love romaine lettuce so they both get two leaves of romaine lettuce everyday. They get 3 meals a day so romaine lettuce is given for breakfast and dinner.
For lunch, I feed them different herbs like cilantro, parsley, basil, cat grass, everyday.
They also get fruits about 3-4 times a week in small amounts due to sugar content.
I give them half of a baby carrots everyday. I cut a baby carrot in half and give them half each, because someone here stated too much carrots are not good for them.

I should also add my Finn and Lara get unlimited hay. They eat hay, but also use it to cover the floor sometimes.
Pallets are given three times a day along with their veggies but in very small amounts.

i feel like shes getting pickier and pickier by day, she wont even eat the 3rd layer of the lettuce only the most green.. ;/ also do guinea pigs switch what they like depending on summer or winter?

A guinea pig is quite capable of deciding that the food they loved yesterday they hate today.
The first time I gave mine Pak Choi they loved it so a week later I bought them some more.
You’d think I was trying to poison them.
They all have their own little food quirks.
