i just got two guinea pigs about 4 days ago, I’ve had guinea pigs before but this is the first time I’ve had to sleep in the same room as their cage. I have a cat so I don’t really have any other options. It seems like when I turn the light off they’re immediately very noisy but once I turn it on again they’re much quieter. They’re happy and constantly making purring noises. It’s just starting interupt my sleep, sounds like they’re doing backflips in there!

Try put up with it for a while, they may begin to realise that when the light is turned off they need to sleep. You could also buy or use anew extra light to keep turned on near them. They might not even like the sudden light changes so try not to use a big light, let daylight come through so the change in light is not to quick.

You could try feeding them just before bedtime. I find mine always go for a sleep just after they eat. Guinea pigs are most active at dusk and dawn, so if they're going straight from light to dark, that might also be having an impact on when they're active, so making the light change more gradual could help.
