My lovely Wesley

I lost my boy Wesley today and I am beyond heartbroken. He was just over six and the most friendly, well behaved and loving gent you could ever meet. He leaves behind his 3 year old friend Neville, who we will soon be trying to find companions for.

Wesley had some URIs in the later parts of his life and we definitely had close calls. It was this that made me feel he was always invincible. In the end, he had developed a large tumour in his abdomen, he was losing weight and his dewlap had filled with fluid. I took him in today to be Xrayed and ultrasounded, as at this point we thought it was a heart issue that could be treatable. He passed away in the vets arms so peacefully during the ultrasound. She said he had no pain and didn't even gasp. He simply fell asleep. I went to give him a goodbye and I've walked away and felt so empty since. I miss you, dear boy

I'm finding it so incredibly difficult. I need to clean out his C&C today and walking near it is making me physically ache.

It’s a shock for you all and be gentle with yourselves. You know you did everything you could for him. Our piggies love day to day and Wesley had many many happy days. That’s all you needed to do for him, give him those happy days.
