I have been quite i'll with a very painful sore throat and had been up two nights and three day's because of the pain, I'm still not 100% and feel very weak but yesterday ithe piggies had to be cleaned out and i forced myself to put pigs in their run. Later i asked daughter (11yo) to help get them in and she left the run door open and silver got out (rescue piggy from popcorn paradise). i tried to shout at her not to chase her but, too late kita was runnning behind her and silver ran in to a massive bush that goes all round my rather large garden, which is a foot thick with ivy and bush (i like it for privacy) she hid under a tree root proper wedged in and my OH was out there for 40 mins as we couldnt see her being silver agouti, he ripped all the ivy out either side of her so we could get in behind her and tap her ass wich made her run into a tunnel i had waiting i am soooo glad i got her back poor little madam. she has been spoilt with all her fave yummy veggies today.

Oh bless accidents will happen xx There have been occasions where i have gone out to my piggies and there hutch door is wide open! but never once did they leave the hutch, they seemed happier to be inside. We discovered that the bolt was a bit dodgy, we thought it had locked but it had not locked properly and had opened. I am glad your piggy is back safely

Oh glad you got her back safely. Accidents do happen - my Smartie once did an unexpected back jump when I was putting her out once and she ended up running down the garden - I managed to grab her before one of the dogs luckily though ..... scary moment though,
Well done your OH and hope you feel better soon,
x

I think she was terrified to be honest i've not had her long and she is very skittish anyway, i think she's glad to be back with her sister and the rest of the herd tho

Piggies eh!? rolleyes

I remember putting our first pair of piggies out in the run (this was about 15 years ago) and one got out of a teeny tiny gap.

She ran to the conifer trees we had at the back of the garden and sat there for 30 mins without budging.

We were meant to be leaving for a wedding, instead we were trying to capture an escapee! Luckily with a lump of cucumber and gentle coaxing she was back. Needless to say for those 30 minutes we were all frantic!

Silly piggies :))

my lot are quite the opposite.. as long as there's gress to be munched they no movin'!

most of mine will come out and munch the grass on the other side of the run but they are the one's that are not scared and i can get them back in easy i can even get some of them to follow me (well one to follow me porridge is the boss and very friendly and the other's follow her)

If my daughter had just stopped i would of walked round Silver and got on the bushes side and forced her to go toward's the house but she didnt listen.

At the time i just couldnt do anything i mean i was in the bushes but couldnt think beyond tring to get her back

oh no.... its horrible when that happens....!
glad she back safe and sound...
i lost cleo once when i just got her.... i lived in flats and there was a green area out the back so iahd plooped her in a run out there i'd sit with them for a bit... and as i was getting them all in.... she did a runner...(hevily pregnant....) right accross the field...and next door let the cat out...(this cat kills everything...!) i really thought i was never going to see her again..... but i cought a flash of white under a bush and left a box with some treats in there and backed off.... and loan behold 15mins later i had her safe in the house...!
it was terifying....!
there so naughty giving us scares like that arnt they...!
