What a handsome little guy! :love: Such an adorable face! So scared though, hope he gets over his new pig jitters soon. Congrats on your new piggy! :wel:to Prince, glad you have found a great home.
 
He's a cutie, congrats! I am glad you are able to keep your girls.
 
Aww he is lovely. Is the plan to put them all together once he has settled?
 
He is very handsome. :) That is quite a change of heart though to go from rehoming the girls to keeping them all and adopting a boar? I hope he settles well for you.
 
Right @kiera. On trying to keep the multiple threads to one that follows on:

You mentioned your new boar is biting. It's a situation that you are finding difficult. You mention he keeps going for everyone.

You have had advice on giving him chance to settle and getting him checked out at a vet, and to read the information on biting.

How about some background information.

Does anything lead up to this? (teeth chattering, posturing etc)
Does he bite when handled?
Does he bite at any other time?
Are they proper bites or 'tweaks'?
Does he show any other aggressive signs?
Does he show fear?
Any other behaviour that concerns you?
When did this start?
Is it when you catch him for handling, or is he reacting to something that is happening to him at the time?

It's not that you should feel the need to answer all the questions but any information could help with figuring out what is going on here.
 
@kiera where did you adopt this boar from? Can the rescue offer you support while he settles in or any information about his past life and the behaviours they have noticed. That would be somewhere I would look to for help and support at this stage.
 
I think I can speak for alot of people when I say I'm kind of confused? Prince is the new piggy right whom you've only just adopted? If I am correct (all these threads are messing with my train of thought lol) then he is probably still frightened. It is advised you wait at least 5 days before trying to handle etc and if you do decide to pick them up before then biting should be expected. Is it possible you're not handling them in the correct position?
 
Remember that guinea pigs are prey animals and are programmed to be alert for danger.

Your new boar will be unsure of himself and will be afraid. It is your job to help him gain confidence by being really gentle and patient with him. They are such sensitive creatures and by welcoming them into our homes we give them a chance to blossom and to form a bond with us.

Talk gently to him and accept that it may take him a while to trust you. Best of !uck.

I had a piggy like this called fudge. I got him from gumtree and he had 2 previous owners. He was fine for the first day and started to attack us! I handed him everyday and with a lot of hard work and patience he turned into an absolute angel :) he was one of the most loving piggies I've ever had. Unfortunately he passed away 15 months after I got him and it broke me I love that pig so much! It's not his fault if he's had bad previous owners that have made him fearful of humans.
Please don't give up on him I will tell you from my own experience that it is truly rewarding when they change their life around because of you and I believe you can help him.
