She looks so funny beside my two ther girls!Shes fitting in great too!:))

I'm going to weigh her every few days and see what she puts on,she must have been the little runt of her litter!

awwwwww she's so cute x)x)x)
Love her little food bowl!
Good idea to weigh her regularly.
Did you allow time for her to be in quarantine in case of illness etc ?
Looking forward to more pigtures of Mini x)

I only left her on her own for two days? And just read on here that it should have been two weeks!

I know my guinea pig's are well, and I have checked this little one for obvious signs of illness, and I did get her from a pet shop, but tyhey are quite good when it comes to piggies, the only reason they sold me a lone pig is because they knew I have others, and if the animals are poorly they keep them out the back and treat them,il just keep and eye on them,I hope they will be ok.

The only thing that concerns me is her tiny weight!which I will monitor too!
I have some more pics of her and my other piggies to put up!:)

My jemima was small for her age at 300g at 6 weeks, mind you she soon piled it on in her new home hehe! Mini looks gorgeous and lets hope she doesn't stay too mini for long

A good way to bulk her up is to soften the pellets with boiling water (leave them to cool then put them in the cage) Babies love to tuck into this. :)

Obviously too late to worry about things now (you'll just have to monitor all 3 very carefully over the next couple of weeks) - but quarantine is soooo important for many reasons - it's far easier to treat a single pig for a single illness than all 3!

One of my girls was quarantined for 8wks before she was put with my neutered boy and it's a good job i did carry out the initial 3wks quarantine period as 1wk 4 days after getting her i noticed several areas of fungal on her - it took over 6wks to fully clear her of this - i couldn't even begin to imagine treating several pigs at the same time.

For future reference - just because a pig appears healthy doesn't always mean they are - many piggie illnesses can take several weeks before symptoms are apparent - hence why you should always quarantine before any introductions take place. This is even more important as your new addition has come from a pet shop - ok so the pet shop may be very good, but you have no idea of knowing the conditions she was kept in before she arrived at the pet store.

Just be careful in future - unless they've come from a reputable rescue always be cautious and ALWAYS quarantine - in the long term it'll save you a lot of hassel/worry and you wont face any high vets bills trying to treat multiple pigs :)

She is really very cute x)
