hi. i recently rescued 2 alpace sows that had been badly neglected. they had matted fur, big lumps of poo stuck to there bum and sores on their legs. their fine now and absolutly love their cuddles and fuss. but when it comes to grooming they change into completly different piggys. biting me and trying to leap out my arms. it's such a pain. how can i get them to calm down :(

well how are you grooming them? are you just trying to brush them or are you trying to give them a bath? maybe whenever they were initially washed/brushed to get all the nasty stuff outta their fur it was painful, so they dont want to endure that again (obviously it wouldnt hurt this time but they wouldnt know that)....idk just an idea. maybe start off slowly with a really soft brush, just so they know it wont hurt them. and try distracting them with their favorite veggies...might make it easier :)

i'm just trying to brush them. when i got them they had a bath and the poo chopped out and brushed and their nails cut. which wouldn't have been a good time for them at all so your more then likely right :) i just need to keep up with the brushing now, they have very thick hair.
thankyou for the advice i'll give that ago with a soft brush and some yummy veg :) x
