My piggy has a sore nose how can I help him?

Hi,

I noticed yesterday that cobweb had some patchy fur on his nose and today its looking very red and sore. He seems well otherwise, eating normally and running round like an idiot! Does anyone know what this may be? He gets quite raucous with his brother could it be from fighting?

I plan to take him to the vet on monday but can anyone give any advice on what to do until then, should I bathe it or put any cream on or anything?

Sorry for all the questions just want to make sure he's ok! Apologies for the rubbish pic too, best i could do with my phone camera! :{

Hi Amylou,

Hard to tell for sure from the picture, on first looking at it I would say bite wound or possibly a scratch, however I am not 100% sure.

Can you see if the skin looks healthy underneath the hair? Does it look like a scab, or is there any flaky dry skin there?

Hi Laura,

It's quite a red raw looking wound but does look quite dry and flakey around the wound and his hair looks a bit thin there.

It doesn't seem to be bothering him much but I'm worried about him!
