Squeak has been with us for a week now and has had a lot to deal with over that week including moving to a new, bigger hutch. He has been eating really well and has even taken to eating his excel nuggets rather than his museli (I've been mixing the two as a slow transition) We have had a few brief strokes and a little cuddle while I clean him out but he's still so sad :(

Aw, what a lovely boy x)
Have you thought of getting Squeak a little friend to play with and to keep him company ? Piggies are sooo much happier in pairs :)
A good rescue local to you may offer dating where you can take Squeak and he can chose his buddy - you then come home with another needy piggy and two happy boys :))

It really sounds like he needs a friend to share his days with.
I've had lone a pig (before I knew any better) and believe me they do seem sad. I didn't realise that unti I had piggies that live together. They interact so much and are so vocal! They really seem happy sharing things with another piggie.

I would consider getting squeak a friend, guinea pigs are very social and take it from me you see so much more of their personality.

I would love to get him a friend but am struggling to find a close enough rescue and I would far rather go the resuce route rather than buying from a breeder/pet shop (although I'm sure there are many reputable breeders, it's just my preference) I have contacted our local RSPCA branch but they don't have any guinea pigs at the moment, obviously a good thing for them.
He has been castrated so not sure whether he'd be happier with a male or female companion, just don't want to get it wrong and end up with two unhappy single pigs!

If you let us know wher abouts in the country you are someone might be able to reccomend a rescue nearby.
The good thing with rescues is they usually let you bring your piggy in to meet their new friend before you take them home so you're less likely to end up with two single unhappy pigs. :)

I'm in Mid Wales/Shropshire border if that helps? x

Suzy gpr on here is in Wales so maybe have a chat :)
Also there is a Piggy Bank where members can help with transporting piggies if you have no access to a car etc.
Piggies have been rehomed the length and breadth of the country so don't despair :)) There is a piggy out there somewhere who would love to share their life with Squeak x)

Thank you! He's such a special guinea that I want him to be happy with a new friend!

Awww bless Squeak x) Hope you can find a friend for him soon.
