Goldie has asked me to post these pictures for you all to see.
These are my 2 new blind rescued piggies. Aged just 4 weeks and 6 weeks.

The white one is completely blind and deaf and the other is blind. The white one has mites on her belly as it is scabby and sore. Both have hay mites.
They have now been bonded and live together in a cage at present although we are saving up to buy them a roof opening hutch. Since being together they popcorn around the cage for hours, so much that they bang into the sides, which makes them popcorn even higher.
When they finally go to sleep they both curl up in a ball, like little balls of fluff. Time after time I think the white one has died in her sleep. When I enter the shed there is no movement, not even when I open the squeeky cage door but she eeks with delight when I wake her for food.

These two girls are fantastic in every way. They miss each others company as soon as one is removed from the cage.

I want to send a big thank you to Goldie and to Cheryl for their help and advice this week.

Goldie is going to name them for for me, so here you go with the pics.......

Lovely girls!

I'm always amazed with how well they cope with no sight - pigs are amazing!

Oh Claire, they are just so sweet and vulnerable! x>>
I hope that my advice was helpful ... I had never owned a blind piggy until Princess came along. You always have to be on step ahead of a blind piggy (and a deaf one, although I have never had a deaf one) and just guess what they might do when they wander around! rolleyes:))

Thanks for letting me name them, I was touched! But as I said to you by pm, you are taking a risk as my daughters have already gone through all of Friends names and now are on to Jordan and Peter names, i.e. Princess and Junior! :))

Anyway, thinking along the lines that one piggy was white and the other one mostly black and after seeing their photos, I came up with the names of Mallow (as in marshmallow - white and pink, especially if her eyes are red as it seems in the photo) and Humbug because of her markings. One of my daughters came up with Polly and Molly, Polly being the white one. But I have to say that I like the names of Ivory and Ebony as suggested by above.

How are the little darlings today?

Thanks Bev,

The choice is yours, I like them all. Which couple of names would you like them to have ?

The girls are fine and the mites sore is clearing up already but the white one fell from her hutch today. I put them in a hutch while I cleaned their cage out and she fell about a foot when I opened the door. She landed feet down, thank goodness, and on grass. I've checked her over and she's fine. It's difficult getting used to the fact that they don't stop at the edge of the hutch, they just carry on running and boy can they run fast. This time I wasn't quick enough to catch her.
We have a local family who have kindly donated a roof opening hutch that arrives tomorrow so this will make things a lot easier.

Thanks Claire.

Could we go for Mallow and Humbug for their names, is that ok with you?

How are they doing today?

They are just adorable, all the more so for being special needs x)

Lovely names xoxo
