My very first ear-flapping wheek! (4 pix, Sal)

I've heard Redemption wheek before, but I just heard him, that's all. This morning I decided to take some photos out in the sunshine to get a clearer view of Salvatore and his hair, but the sun was so bright it cast too many shadows so I stopped that and came inside and used the flash. FLASH! Then Sal started the wheeking, and his ears actually flapped up and down! I had never seen that before! It was just so precious, I hope it happens again someday without the flash. (I'll try to use fewer or no photos with the flash in case that was a pain reaction. I'm hoping he was just upset because first the sun, and then the flash. . . .)

Salvatore trying to climb out of the tomato box. He is so much more active than Redemption ever has been. That little spot on his back on the right is where a scab came off; it is healing well and quickly.

Aaaw, that's adorable, and I'm glad he's doing so well, you really are doing great with them! Salvatore's just the most handsome little man-pig! <3
 
Aww, he's beautiful. I love big piggy ears too - Rocket always makes me smile when he flaps his, it sounds like he's going to take off! :))

he is really handsome is nt he? liquorice flaps his ears when he squeeks too, it always makes us laugh, salvatore is doing so well, you must be so pleased and relieved! did the vet have any idea how old he is?

Pleased and relieved doesn't begin to cover it. I even had a dream about a sick man, no idea who, who was able to change his fate by eating a guinea pig diet. I've started eating more fresh vegetables myself. The vet didn't offer me any numbers as to Sal's age, only that she agreed with me, that he is older than his size would indicate.

I figure that he'll either remain stunted because of his early upbringing, or all this food will give him a boost and he will catch up. At the vet on Monday he weighed 730 g, which is 5 g more than last week here at my house. So he is growing slowly right now, nowhere near the speed at which Red chunked up.
 
This is great news! He must have been excited about something to wheek at you. How cute. You are doing so well with him and Red. I love to hear all about them.

All 14 of mine flap when they squeak - usually when we rustle something or if someone uses the chopping board or stands near the fridge rolleyes flap flap flap at the same time as squeak squeak squeak!

Oh Lordy, maybe they will all take off and fly around at the same time! I would love to see something like 14 pigs squeaking and flapping together!
 
you could try getting something to defuse the flash, maybe something like a single ply or two of loo roll?

I did buy a flash defuser for our camera but not used it yet, and i dont have a piggy to test it on :(
 
Aw bless, my Rebel does that, time has flown in, he's 10 weeks old tomorrow. Out of all the piggies, Rebel wheeks by far the loudest of all the pigs, The wife can hear him in the house when I go out to feed them. :)) :)) :))
 
Those pictures are so cute! I've loved reading little Sal's story from the first post, its one of the most heart-warming tales ever!

aww thats so cute when they're little ears flap, roger usually is the one of my lot who does it when he is telling someone off! rolleyes

Lol come over here at breakfast first thing... With the amount of flapping that goes on here, it wouldn't surprise me if they did start flying around :))

Also, Pancake flaps his ears when someone sneezes, I've noticed. I was watching him and OH sneezed, and he flapped. He wasn't scared. I just think it made him jump lol awww...

It's VERY cute when they flap their ears whilst wheeeeking!
The girls do this when they're really really excited........usually when i bring in their greeeeeeeen spaghetti :))
