Hi Alan here.

I am well used to cutting nails but tonight i just caught the tip of charlies quick ! malletheadmalletheadmallethead I am wondering if any thing is necessary after the bleeding has stopped ( which it has as there was not a lot of blood, just a few dots and no squelling or obvious pain, just discomfort) do i do any thing more ?

Should be fine, we often have this problem with Nibbles because she has brown nails and you can't see the quick.

Oh thats great thanks, charlie has black nails so i am normally extra careful with him but i ont no what happened !

tip guys - shine a torch throught their dark nails, it shows you where you can cut up to! x

Can be hard to do when you're trimming nails on your own with tricky piggies but it is a useful tip to bear in mind!

While the nail is bleeding - depending on how far up the quick you cut, it can bleed a fair bit - finely ground coffee granules (sounds strange, but worked for me in an emergency!), cornflour, a haemostatic spray or veterinary wound powder all help to stop the bleeding.

Thanks for all the great tips youre giving me there just great especialy yours CCC4 great tip.

Alan
