My boys have just been through the trauma of nail cutting.

I think it was horrific for them it was as if I was trying to cut of their legs or something I tried bribery and a fleece but didn't seem to help. I kept calm and talked nicely to them and no blood was drawn but they both squeeled like I was about to kill them!

Is it advisable to get a professional to do it next time or will they be the same with them? George has white nails so I knew I was not going anywhere near the quick and no bloodshed. Tiger however has some black nails and I only took a bit off those. (couldn't do the light thing as would be noway I could hold them, the light and clip at the same time).

Thanks :{

I am ok at doing it now, but Brian has to hold my piggies. I can't hold with one hand and clip with another. Maybe get someone to hold for you, then you have two hands free. x

thanks will try that next time! They are fine now just didn't like it at the time :) At the minute they are popcorning round the playpen :))

Yep I hold and Peter cuts, on his head if he cuts too short! :D

Also wrap in a towel! Jasper is so good having his nails done I have a couple of pigs who don't like it though! You could always shine a touch below the foot to show where the vein is so you don't cut too shot too. :)

Most of mine scream blue murder when I cut their nails. :))
You'll get used to it; once you get into the swing of things and find your confidence, you'll learn to ignore the protests and just get the nails done in moments!
