So I’m noticing my 2 sows I’ve had over 6 months need their nails clipped. My friend a vet tech and animal groomer is going to stop by and do it, I trust her with their paws. So that’s not the tricky part.
I’m not sure is there a certain way for me the owner to hold the Guineas while someone else clips them? I don’t want them to freak out if I can calm them down and keep them still.

They wont freak out as your friend is experienced and it will all be done in under a minute. Simply sit on a comfy seat by a bright window or with a lamp to light the area.

Hold the pig with his back against your front and then you should find the feet naturally stay in a good position for clipping.

It is so super simple, you'll be kicking yourself for having left it 6 months. I cant do nails by myself. My man holds the pigs as described and i whizz round with the clippers. Good luck!

I buy a big bag of coriander firstly, then while I’m doing the trimming I offer coriander to them. It takes their mind off the job in hand. If your friend is a vet tech then they will be very experienced at trimming nails, like others have said you could hold the back end and offer treats

I did my research before buying my pigs but the collective knowledge on this forum is teaching me even more as I am taking care of them. I am kicking myself for not knowing some things I should.
Next I need to bath them with head and shoulders dandruff shampoo. I have seen videos.
Can We place all 3 of them in a new and big enough storage bin filled with 1 inch or so of water?

Why do you think you need to bathe them? Bathing shouldnt be done unless absolutely necessary for medical reasons as it isn’t good for them. Healthy piggies will keep themselves clean. Head and shoulders shampoo is harsh on their skin.
If they must have a bum bath, then that is fine occasionally but if you can use just plain water then that is best.

Bathing (including cleaning grease glands)

I seen it recommended on, a popular Guinea pig you tubers channel. He recommended it and I believe bathed them with it in the video.

i was hoping to achieve 1) Super gorgeous well conditioned fur as the guineas I see on here. 2) I heard it really helps the bonding between them.

going to read the source now thank you.

I’m afraid neither of those things are actually the case.
Bathing unnecessarily can cause problems with their skin. Harsh shampoos won’t do them any favours.
To keep them in condition, feed a good healthy diet and keep their bedding clean. A groom and cut for long haired piggies is a good thing to do though.
Bonding baths aren’t recommended. Its stressful to them and really doesn’t do anything for their bonding.

My other half holds my piggies facing outwards whilst I clip their nails. I can't do it alone! 2 person job make it easier for me..

It was done smoothly. I learned they have less toes than dogs! Making the job less hard Lol

no bathes needed now
I feed them really well.
