I am taking my 2 boys tomorrow for a check up.
I want them to get thier teeth checked and nails clipped.

I did not realise how long Sid's nails was until this week (they are only 11 months old).

How often do the nails need clipping?

I am also going to ask him about Fudge/ he has started to cough not all the time but every now and again. He still is running around mad and eating for England but he seems to cough more after he has eaten . I don't know if he is coming down with something or he is that greedy he is chocking on his food.

Heres hoping that they will both be alright after the vet visit

Your boy is just greedy!

Here are tips about nail clipping. The rate of growth changes a bit thoughout that life of a piggy; nails grow fastest between 1-2 years old then they slow down again somewhat. I would cut the nails every 2-4 weeks depending on how fast they grow.

Here are tips for you to do it yourself. It is actually not that hard and gets a lot better with practice, especially if you only cut as much as you can in one go - from one toe to all nails in go, depending on the piggy:

Thanks for the quick response.

I hope it is just greed. He is healthy apart from this cough.

Thanks for the link about the nail clipping. I will let the vet do it tomorrow and see how they do it . Then will try myself the next time.

Did not realise nails grew that fast lol. I knew about thier teeth.

Fudge has not seen the vet for 8 months and Sid has never seen him/ her due to the fact that when we got him he had to go back to pets at home due to a terrible might infection/ he was away for 7 weeks

So a check up is overdue

You were right , Fudge is just being greedy. was not his chest

The nurse clipped both thier nails and the vet gave them a good check up. She even used a instrument with a light on it to look at the back of thier teeth.

She gave them both a clean bill of health. and to be honest i was happy with the bill / it was only £16 i though it was going to be a lot more than that with the consultation fee.
