Mango has been at the vets with snuffly breathing and I've been given f10 solution and told to nebulise him. Either by using a nebuliser or by placing a towel over the carrier and placing a steaming bowl with 1/250ml of f10 solution to water in it. I've been looking at nebulisers and don't know what to buy. Is this one ok? Betterlife Nebuliser For Treatment Of The Upper And Lower Respiratory Tract | eBay

I've done the bowl method for now.

I don't know about nebulisers. Just wanted to say sending Mango healing vibes, hope he get's well very soon.

I recently bought this one: Aquilon² nebuliser information and online purchase as I also have been advised to use one with Zebedee who is prone to URIs.
It's more pricey than the one you mention, at £50, but it is made in the UK and they supply the NHS so are presumably reliable etc.
I ordered it over the phone one day, and it came the next, but I am rather more local to them than you :) (NB - the price shown online is ex-VAT - as I had mentioned I needed it for a pet, VAT had to be added hence £50)

I have a small ormon one. It works perfectly well. I got it from my vets. Don't gotget you need a plastic box with some holes in to put them into - this is mine but I put too many holes in so I pop a towel on it.

Thank you. So the one I was looking at would be ok then?

i got a beurer from argos cost £31.00.it has been very good,i use a cat carrier with cling film over the door and put the nebuliser in the cling film, and sit freya in for 20 mins.aslo got f10 antiseptic solution from amazon to put in neb.these where on vets instructions ,this has really made a difference to Freya upper respiratory Tract infection ( URTI ).

I was also looking at children's Ones as they would probably be quieter.

The other one in Argos looks ok. I think we will be going to get one tomorrow.

I can't seem to see any reviews, or any info on noise such as how many decibels each one produces ...

The only thing that would concern me about buying from a private buyer on ebay etc, (other than how can they sell something 'new' for so much less than the rrp), is that they don't allow returns and can't provide support in the event of a problem, nor any warranty etc.

Like @Katiedid , I've bought a plastic storage box and made holes in it; but the vet nurse who showed me how to use the equipment suggested one could even use a bin bag as the container. not sure how a piggies would like that, but I guess it's possible!

I tried all stores from here to Glasgow. They're all out of stock and won't be in for between 3 to 5 days.

The Beurer one sold by Argos and the Betterlife one look identical - Betterlife is a Lloyds pharmacy brand, have you tried their stores local to you?

I think one thing that needs to be taken in consideration is the noise levels!
The one that I have is quite noisey and if I needed to use it l would probably bury it in cushions ect to stop the noise frightening a pooly pig

There's only small lloyds pharmacies near me. I will try and not have a look to see where the nearest bigger one is.

I'm bidding on an ormon one on e bay. Thanks all for your recommendations.

Also Mango is a bit less snuffly today so even the bowl method has helped him. So nebuliser should be great for him.

@Julie M I did a thread in GP chat a couple of weeks ago, Lidl were selling Nebulisers recently & they were very reasonably priced, some Lidls do seem to still have them in stock :)
