I have two boys around 5 months old. They have been doing the normal dominance behaviours but tonight it seems to be escalating. Very vocal, aggressive chasing, mounting and posturing. It is not calming down so have separated them. The cages adjoin so they can still see each other and they are still going g up to the bars and vocalising to each other. What do I do? Should I just give them time out or will this make it worse? Any advice would be great. Thank you

Hi! Your boys have hit the teenage months. As you have separated, you will have to introduce them again on neutral ground in a day or two once tempers have cooled down a bit. Please be aware that you can't do this all the time, as too many separations can contribute to destabilising the bond.

Please take the time to carefully read our very detailed teenage guide, which covers all aspects. You should find it helpful. Boars: Teenage, Bullying, Fighting, Fall-outs And What Next?
