Hi everyone, thank you all so much for your support on my recent posts regarding Jellybean’s mammary mass removal, which was confirmed to be cancer by the lab report. I had hoped that with her wonderful recovery from that surgery, we would’ve seen the end of that but today I noticed some brown mucous discharge around her vulva. I had a feel around and found what I think is a small mass in the area :( back to the vet tomorrow, I’m so nervous as I’m going abroad on Wednesday and whatever treatment is prescribed I’ll have to get my poor mum to administer! Hopefully another surgery isn’t in the cards but I’m expecting the worst. Does anyone have any experience with multiple mass removals on the same piggy?

I have no experience but I'm so sorry you're going through this and wanted to send my love xx

Sending you and your piggie hugs. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Sending Jellybean lots of healing vibes.

Thank you all, it’s nice to know there’s people hoping for the best for my girly :)

Good luck at vets, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you both!

I feel your pain, the same thing happened with wonky Tonks, a month or so ago. She had a mastectomy and a week later another operation. She also had a second lump but luckily it was just an abscess (also an infection because she chewed her wound blah blah blah it’s a long story unique to her XD). It’s worrying because it’s your baby but it was nothing to worry about and she certainly didn’t care, she was strong and happy throughout the whole ordeal so she wants me to tell you not to worry too much :)

Also my Cissy had a cancerous mammary rumour removed last year and as far as we know it didn’t return. They got it out whole and she recovered so well, much better than Tonks but that’s because Tonks is a nightmare :P

Hopefully it’ll just be a case of antibiotics and pain meds as abscesses are pretty common after operations with pigs so fingers crossed it’s just that and you get it sorted soon :) x

Sorry no experience so not much use! But good luck at the vets to you and Jellybean, hope all goes well xx

Sorry no advice or experience either, but sending a truckload of healing vibes your way for Jellybean, here's to a full & speedy recovery.
Good luck at the vets

Big hugs
Love the girls & I. Xx

It’s reassuring to know we’re not the only ones to go through this :) thank you!

Oh no.... so sorry about JellyBean having cancer. Sadly i dont have any experiance with piggies with cancer. The only advice i have is to give him loads of love, cuddles, food, toys, forage and stimulation until his last moments. Please keep us posted. JellyBean is a gorgeous piggy, so strong when he got his head stuck.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, it’s good news! The vet reassured me that the histology report from Jellybean’s last mass removal made it clear that the full mass was removed and that it was unlikely to return due to being a relatively non-aggressive form of cancer. He felt the lump and said that it could be some mammary tissue left over from the last op, which was great news.
I’ll be taking her into work with me in a couple of weeks for him to check her again and see if the mass of tissue has grown, but it’s looking good so far :)

This is brilliant news ! You must be so relieved. :yahoo: Hope you have a lovely relaxing hoilday at @Charlpigs .
Make sure your a good girl little Jelly bean while mummy is away, no more worrying people.xx
