Hi folks. We bought our pigs this box of hay with nettle stalks:

Norfolk Nettle Hay Box 9kg

I'm not sure what I expected but the nettle stalks look like big woody twigs, really quite tough, and I didn't think the pigs would want them. However, they love them and don't leave any behind, they just crunch them right up!

Has anyone come across this before? It makes me think of getting a pair of gardening gloves next spring and going out and gathering nettles! Presumably they would need to be dried before feeding so that they don't sting. But if they're this popular, maybe it would be worth it. Any thoughts?

Yep they are fine.
Drying then works best but only so you can have a supply to last throughout the winter!
