Hello!

My partner and I have been discussing a few things, and one thing to come up was the subject of getting our (not-so) little Keith neutered. He is currently living happily with Gibson, who turns 5 next month, so we're trying to be mentally prepared for the day when perhaps Gibson isn't around anymore.

What would a good age be for Keith to undergo neutering? He is 3 months now. There's no rush of course, as he's well bonded. It would just make it easier in the future to be able to house him with sows perhaps (and I could have more than 2 that way!).

We would probably prefer to take him to the Cat and Rabbit clinic in Northampton, as we have confidence in them over our cat/dog vet when it comes to guineas!

Any advice or opinions welcome :)

We’ve had three, four month old piggies neutered at Cat and Rabbit Clinic, this week and have two more, of a similar age, booked in next week. All sailed through the op and came home, behaving as if nothing had happened. I think around four months is the perfect age x

Micah was neutered at 3-4 months by a very good vet.
He came through with just a minor blip and recovered well.
It was fairly urgent that he had piggy company having been a bullied baby and I had 3 sows for him to join.

Good for you thinking and planning ahead.
