on the RSPCA website it says they are having guinea pigs neutered at 4 months of age. i thought it was 6months? I'm waiting till Kenickie is 6 months before his neutered but if its earlier i can get him booked in.
which is it?

thanks

It is best to wait until 5-6 months until the testicles have dropped completely and the guinea is a decent weight.

It is probably more to do with the pig itself, earlier developers / bigger pigs for their age can be done as soon as the vet thinks it is appropriate.

The vets I had my piggies neutered with went by weight more than anything. I had Charlie done at just under 4 months, and Dexter was done at 6 months.
