Well the second of the females got preggers and had her babies when I least expected (I thought it was another month at least!). I finally I have separated them into 4 cages until I get the boys neutered. She basically had incest with her brother and these little cuties came out..I'm not sure if they are 'lethals' but I was concerned that they might come out deformed, but they all seem fine, teeth ok and they are not blind so that's most of the things that could be wrong, not.

I notice the totally white one (Snowy) has completely different hair to every other piggy I have. Does anyone know if this one is actually lethal or the brother (Cappucino) a Roan?

I had a look at this page and am trying to figure out what breed they are (I think the mother & father are both Peruvian) but there are so many breeds and they some look very similar so not sure! I was thinking the all white one baby might be a Lunkarya (which is even not on that page) as it's hair makes it look like a little lamb but since it's rare I'm probably wrong!

The last 2 are the mum and dad (before I butchered their hair so much that my friend couldn't stop laughing at the tragic hairstyles..I won't embarrass the mother (Little Mrs) by putting up her recent picture lol

Great that all has gone well for your other girl.

The babies don't look lethal at all; your first baby looks like it has some pale lilac in the face. He looks like he's got at least part peruvian in the mix. For lethal babies, the roan/dalmation gene needs to be present in both parents, as it is recessive. Theoretically, each piggy with white hair can carry the gene, but in reality this is quite rare. There is a specific breed called pink-eyed whites, which has now been bred from smooth shorthair piggies into all the other breeds. All piggies with any shade of lilac in their colouring also have got pink eyes.

The completely white baby looks like a texel, merino or lunkarya in the making. I guess you will have to wait with both how much the hair will grow out to see what they will ultimately become!

Depending on the ancestry, babies can look very different from their parents. I am currently fostering three baby sisters for TEAS sanctuary, and there are at least four different breeds involved, as far as I can tell! Each girl is a very unusual mix of two or three different breeds. :mal:

I love them, Stunning piggies!
I'm now off to hatch a mini-pignap plan, Muahahahaha... :D

Oh, my, swoons a little, what adorable babies. Utterly scrumptious :luv:

i love that white one his little flappy ears!

Yes well so does everyone who comes to my house lol My friend already told me he wants him (Snowy). I would have loved to keep them both, especially Snowy as he is very special but I only wanted 2, then stretched it to 4 and I have to get rid of the 5 extra just as soon as I get the 2 males neutered.

It's horrible as you get attached to them and very protective so when my friend is asking me that so and so wants one I have to ask if they have a cage/had previous experience/whether they are intending to get another for company lol I think I am going to pair the one in the 1st 3 pix (Cappucino) with the other boar from the other female (who is 5wks older) and refuse to give them individually. The people that have requested them say they only want one but they don't realise how bored and lifeless they get when they are on their own. I am going to have to give one of the juvenile females away alone because I don't have anyone to pair her with. Maybe I will give her away on here for re-homing so I know she will go to a good home.

I was going to ask. I notice when I put Snowy in the other cage today with the other females he started rumblestrutting but he doesn't seem to do that with his mother and she is still breastfeeding and not making the dissatisfied rumbles/weaning them yet. Should I prepare to move him out soon? When I weighed them at 2wks old they were 223g & 215g.
