Hey there, I've have Skippy (my newest aby boar, dob unknown 2015) since the 18th of October, so about a month.
These are his weight-ins:
Oct 20- 750gm
Oct 27- 800gm
Nov 1- 830gm
Nov 4- 880gm
Nov 9- 890gm

But then there is Rox (dob: March 2014), who I have had since Nov/Dec of last year, and he was about 1200gms when I got him.
These are his weigh-ins the last 6 times:
Oct 12- 1290gm
Oct 20- 1280gm
Oct 27- 1280gm
Nov 1- 1300gm
Nov 4- 1290gm
Nov 9- 1310gm

I'm not sure if he is getting fatter since I brought Skippy home, maybe he's eating more of his pellet share? Or I'm just catching him lately before his taking a poo/pee and has eaten?

And does this seem like a good growth rate for the new boy? His age is unknown since the lad who sold/gave him away to me was like "I forgot if we had him for 3 months to 6 months, I just can't keep him anymore" sort of thing.

My boar Bumble is back up to 1310gm after 2 big ops - he usually hovers around 1365 gm and isnt fat at all - I also have a lighter boar at 1100gm - your weights look good to me.

Both weights are perfectly normal for their ages. Rox is a very happy boar at the peak of his life, and that generally means also a good appetite. if you are worried, reduce the pellets to 10-20g per piggy per day as you do for adults. Skippy is now well past his fast growth phase so he doesn;t need as many pellets as initially.

The Importance Of Weighing - Ideal Weight / Overweight / Underweight

When I got my two sows, Syllabub put on weight much earlier than Poglet. For a while, even though Syllabub was actually younger by a few weeks, she weighed nearly twice as much as Poglet! Now that they've both reached maturity, the weight difference is lesser, although Poglet is still lighter (they're both above 1000g now). I shouldn't worry that the heavier boar is overweight or eating more than his fair share of food. =)
