I live in Scampton village, famous for the Dambust
Has anyone tried the new Burgess guinea pig food? It has blackcurrant and oregano in it. I have e-mailed Burgess to see if they will send me a small sample for the girls to try. I just looked on their website and they have some other new things too which look nice - bags of herbs - country garden herbs and mountain meadow herbs.

I have tried it. My lot will normally only eat Science Selective, with the exception of maybe 2 who will eat Wagg.

But they all love the blackcurrant and oregano, so its a thumbs up from me and my 8!

I found it in Pets at Home, good job i did because they dont eat any of the other foods from there and i was running low.

sounds like something i'd like to eat! drooldrooldrooldrooldroolrolleyes:)):))

I asked them for a sample what seems like a week ago but I have not had a response not sure if they are doing these! has anyone else managed to get one?

I've e-mailed burgess the other day and asked if they could send me some of their guinea pig food to try and they send me a small bag of the excell and one of the new Oregano one as well for free.

I received my sample pack in the post today and the girls love it. I will definately be getting this from now on. I've never seen them all at the food bowl together before :)

lol

we have got to be has crafty as them lol when we want free samples we want them free guinea power :(|)

So is this a complete food then. I have seen it in p@h, I would love to find a complete food that my piggies don't selectively eat. x

i recieved my free sample today of the blackcurrant and oregano sent them an email using the contact form the pelletts are very small a lot smaller than the super guinea excel
that i usually use a very small sample i shared it out amoung my 14 piggies
will see if its been eaten or left in the morning

We got some of the new Blackcurrant and Oregano flavoured pellets. They are a hit! 8 of the 10 all eating them at once. Not seen Sophia try them, but Delilah likes them. 9 out of 10 is not bad at all. I love the new size/shape.

I also got the plain "Tasty Nuggets", they are the same as the usual Supa Guinea Excel. Except they are not called Supa Guinea Excel any more!

Has anyone else noticed that the usual mueslis are missing? They seem to have switched entirely to nugget foods, no mixes at all.

Bought some of this for my boys today after they have begun to turn their nose up at science selective- fussy things. However, so far they are a hit. Hope they don't turn their nose up at this in a week or two! x

Isn't it funny, piggies are usually so fussy about dry food. I've not heard of a pig who has refused this yet!

I am hoping they will sell the Blackcurrant and Oregano in 10kg sacks.

I just bought a bag to try out on my fussy muesli eaters. So far they seem to be loving it. Jeremy actually came out of his paper bag that has been his home for two days and ate a load of it. x

I remember we road tested a food for Burgess a couple of years ago that smelled like blackcurrant - wonder if this is it? They quite enjoyed it then so I might try it again.

it is great but quite expensive so I think mine will be without for a while! I have a huge supply of p@h nuggets from the 3for2 offer which should last them about 6 months! might buy a bag of this though to mix in a small amount now and then as a treat!

I got a free sample of blackcurrant and oregano this morning and tried on on the piggies at breakfast - they love it! To the extent i tried a little bit myself. It's ok, nothing for a human to get excited about though. Is it more expensive than the original pellets? I haven't seen it in the shops yet.

Yes more expensive (i can't remember exact how much more but think at least £1 more for 2kg bag at p@h). I can't believe you ate some yuck! :))

If you had seen the excitement it caused, you would have been a little curious too! ;)

I saw it in the wholesalers and phoned them up asking what were then benefits. Blackcurrant is extra vit c and oregano is for stress.

I tried it on three girls that were here who were already eating the burgess excel. They then refused to eat anything else and have had to go through a very long process to revert them back.

I would recommend this for those with a few piggies but they only do the 2kg and 750gms size so would be too expensive for me to use as I go through a 10kg bag a fortnight.

Well after all the good reviews on here, I bought some this week and gave it too my guys. They all LOVE it so much!

I couldn't afford it all the time as it works out too expensive but I am going to offer the odd bowl of it along side their usual (Wagg Guinea Pig Crunch) as they do like it alot. They are still eating their Wagg as well as this which is good.
