I am still somewhat new to owning guinea pigs and have only had my 2 for 6 months. I want to change their diet since i feel like they are not getting a balanced diet. At the moment i feed them half a cup of a mix of green bell pepper, cucumber and zucchini along with around a half cup of romaine lettuce but i would like to improve it by slowly decreasing the amount of cucumber as cinnamon doesn't really eat it and found out it doesn't have that much nutrition as i thought. I would appreciate some opinions on what to add or change in their diet, i will continue my research and am thinking about adding another type of leafy green, add some other veggie to the mix and decrease their cucumber mostly and zucchini.

I feed the above diet which includes pepper, cucumber, green beans, coriander and little gem mainly because I have a piggy with bladder problems and she also has a history of diabetes.

Cucumber is actually good for water content as some piggies don’t drink much water.

Male sure that you feed plenty of good quality hay as that is making 80% of a guinea pigs diet

Yeah i have read over the article it's just tough choosing the best veggies for them while keeping it affordable, my parents are great but they don't know much about guinea pigs and they are my pets but still a bit tricky.

My Finn and Lara will eat many different veggies but they get romaine lettuce everyday, along with some cilantro, parsley, celery, baby carrot, kale, cucumber, peppers, dandelions, basil and etc.

Mine get endless supply of hay and some pellets. If you wish to see some photos to clear up your confusion, I can put some photos of what I give them.

Here are some photos to help you.
My Finn and Lara get romaine lettuce everyday and they always finish. Cilantro in the picture is given in moderation just like all the other veggies like parsley, baby carrot, kale, peppers, dandelion, and etc.

Most important thing is hay so mine get endless hay. Below is Oxbow hay and Kaytee Timothy hay stocked up so I don't run out of hay.

Thank you i plan to decrease the cucumber and add a veggie now and again such as a herb like basil or dill, carrots as a treat, going to try a small bit of broccoli and add another type of lettuce most likely red leaf lettuce. As for hay i get a big thing of kaytee timothy hay auto shipped.

Sounds great.
I also get hay by mail so auto shipments, and from Petco and PetSmart stores when they go on sale.

I always make sure my Finn and Lara have hay because overgrown teeth will cause them to starve. By them constantly chewing on hay, their teeth will always be in healthy length. Their teeth never stop growing.

I feed mine alot of herbs.

Corriander dill. And either mint or basil.

I use to give them parsley but I heard thats high in salt.

Also give them cucumber daily for the water reason and they love it.
Romian and little gem.

And abit of sweetheart cabbage

Corriander is good for the vitamin they can't make them self's. I believe

Coriander is cilantro for me, and mine get it almost everyday. But, I like to rotate herbs and veggies so they get a variety.
I feel moderation and variety is best for my piggies so that is what I give to my Finn and Lara.

Romaine lettuce is something they eat everyday and they always finish their romaine lettuce.
