Hello, I really would love advice on alot of things to do with Guinea Pigs,
I feel that I have very little experience with Guinea's. I have done a few weeks of research and today finally went and purchased my pigs.

excuse the poor quality photo I did a quick snap so they could settle in.

I'm going to leave them for 24hours to settle in before handling, they're both males.

I would like some advice on the best bedding, toys and treats and how to properly clean them quickly and thoroughly as my parents have said this is all down to me.
At the moment the hutch is cover completely with sawdust about 3cm thick and I have a pile of hay in one corner and a bowl with pellets and a water bottle this is the hutch I purchased http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/p...-runs/outdoor-guinea-pig/guinea-pig-den-hutch

and I didn't end up getting the Guinea's from pets at home I got them from Jollyes as I fell in love with these two.

So really I'm just looking for some advice on what to get them, I will be getting them a run on saturday and I'm going out tomorrow to get them some bits after school so any advice is very helpful thankyou!

Hi :wel:to the forum..

It's great that you have done all of your research first before getting your piggies. There are loads of threads on the forum for you to have a look at so have fun looking around them but here are a couple to get you started. You probably have had a look already -

https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk...veg-and-fruit-list-with-vitamin-c-grading.42/ - a typical guinea pig diet should consist of at least 80% hay (unlimited is better) 15% fresh veggies and 5% good quality guinea pig nuggets. Introduce fresh veggies slowly to avoid tummy upsets. It is great fun to find out what your guineas like to eat, you will probably end up with a menu like the rest of us as not all piggies, like humans, like the same things to eat.

https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/faq-how-do-i-settle-shy-new-guinea-pigs.36239/ - this is another good thread which gives you an idea on how to settle your new piggies.

Last but not least we love to see pigtures of your piggies on the forum. If you have a look at our video section at the top this will give you a good idea of how to post them ..... hint hint ;)

Enjoy having a look around the forum and ask any questions you may have. All you need to do is post your question in the relevant section and a fellow member will be in touch.

As for your boys it is always recommended that you get them two of everything so that they have their own bits and pieces but again have a look at the various stickies in each section for more information.
