Awww how exciting! :)

I think everyone is different but with my 2 I left them a day to get use to the place, then got them out when the kids were in bed so nice and quiet. My boar is very cuddly and loves me holding and stroking him but my sow prefers running around she is more lively. Get some yummy veggies ready for them when you take them out but they may not eat from you for a week or so x :smitten:

;D Thanks for the reply!

Depending what there like, I might leave it a day or two until I start to hold them! O0
I'll try get som lettuce and carrot ready for them! ;)

Where you getting them from ? Are they rescued piggies :smitten:

Lucky you!

Yes, I agree, let them settle in first. Lots of advice on here about feeding, bedding, housing etc - go and have a look at that. And - send us pics once you've got them! :)

I will post pictures once they're here!
Where having them of a previous owner, She got them and they where setting of her Dads asthma, and they need a home!
So My mum asked me if I still wanted some guinea pigs, and now we are! I'm really excited! ;D
There about 7 months old. :)

i didnt hold mine for a few days. instead to help them get used to me i offered them veg from my hand, through the bars, or putting my hand in the cage.

also i think talking to them helps them get used to you :smitten: i talk to all my pigs all the time

Awwww! well done you! Am sure you'll be a great piggy mum. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask any questions no matter how silly you may think they are! There are loads of fab people on this forum with years of experience and they're all more than willing to help. Good luck with your new charges O0

Good to hear you're giving them a nice new home :) Do they have names? I'd just advise what the others have said - leave them a day to settle in and then try giving them food from your hand etc. If they've been handled by their previous owner they should be used to it

before i held mine i got into their cage and fed them and stroked them, then eventually they came and jumped on my knee. thats when i start picking them up and holding them :)

Yes they already do have names, George & Harley I think I splet them correctly!
I love there names :)
Thanks for replys, you guys seem nice :) :)
Where picking them up on Saturday at 2pm and I'm really excited! :D
Thanks again for the advise! I shall start giving them food through the bars of there cage. :)

Does anyone know the type the boars are?

Oh i remember them boars :smitten: They were advertised somewhere :)
George looks to me like a tri coloured piggy (Agouit, buff and white) and
Harley looks like a tort and white Abyssinian :smitten: :smitten: Both are adorable O0

Harley is an abbysinian not sure about colour,as ILA said tort and white? and George is a tri-coloured smoothair, again not sure on colour has some agouti in him by the looks of it, they're sweeties whatever! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
as for handling, i'd leave it at least 24hrs maybe longer depending on how they settle, and what their temprement is like ;) definitely talk to them quite soon after you've got them, leave them alone for a bit when you first get them and then just pop in now and then and talk quietly and calmly :)
yeah get some nice veggies and hay etc. well if there's anything you want/need to know, i'd just ask, we can't really guess what you do and don't know O0 well done you for rescuing, i'm sure you'll make a great mummy and i hope everything goes well :smitten:

I thought Harley was a Abbysinian! :)
There both sweet anyway! :D
I will find myself talking to them alot! Hehe! ;D
As for veggies, I'll try get some things in tomorrow. :)
I'm really excited cant stop looking at pictures!
Thanks,
Nikki :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Awww there lovely :smitten: :smitten:

You will soon be enjoying many cuddles of your 2 boys :smitten: :smitten:

Doesn't look like the previous owners put much hay in....I think I can see some on the left but when you get the boys put a big pile of hay in - they will go mad for it and it's good for them :)
