Hi my name is claire and am the proud mummy of two pretty girl piggies.
crunchie is white and a honey comb colour and her sister sparkle is chocolate brown and beige.
they are now about 11 weeks old and we have had them for 3 weeks.
They were bought on the pretense of being pets for my children but they are really my girls.

I had guinea pigs as a child ( a long time ago) but as usuall with children the looking after was mainly left to my mum.

They have a hutch which is out side in the day but i cant bring myself to leave them out at night.... soft touch... i know.

They have 5 mins per day with my children Molly 5 and Ryan 2 when they have their veggies, and every evening have the run of the living room when the children are in bed!
I think they are just getting used to us now.
well thats us really looking forward to chatting to you

Welcome to the board, Claire!

We're obviously all a bit piggie-barmy on here; and it's relief for many of us to find kindred company...

Your girls sound really nice (can't wait to see pics!) and have obviously found a loving home. It's good that you let them settle in first and get used to the children slowly and under strict supervision.

I grew up with guinea pigs as well; though mine have just doubled in number with the adoption of two more girls a month ago - pretty much at the same time as you, then! They are enjoying the run in the living room as well...

I didnt realise there were guinea pig rescue, and was looking at a few last night.
But i think i will leave it a while till my piggies settle in first. I also want to get an indoor hutch for the winter which i have priced up as around £90.
and for more of them id also need a bigger out door hutch.
Thanks for the replies ladies
Claire
