So this evening I went to buy two more guinea pigs (I also have two peruvian female's) now i also have 2 abyssinian female's.
The abyssinians are extremely skittish as they were not handled that much in their previous home-when I got my peruvians, they were quite a bit tamer. I am now worried about dropping the abyssinians or something. Any advice?X

Aww congrats on becoming a piggy mamma again :) You'll need to get some pigtures of them up so we can drool over them x)

Do you have any names yet?

Rufus was, and sometimes still is, quite skitterish as well. I just gave him time to himself and he came around within a few days. Now when he's out of his cage he follows me around and eats the bottom of my trousers!

x

Ah thanks-love my piggies:-)x
Yeah called Bubble+Squeak-try to put up some pics (havent had the chance as i am new to the forum) thanks for the advice:(|)

Just give it time, they will learn to trust you and give you lots of love - especially when you have yummy food for them :))

Babies tend to be more wriggly so maybe dont handle them standing up, perhaps kneeling in case they make a sudden jump. they sound adoreable and I cant wait to see some pics!

awwwwwwwwwww hope you get some pigtures up soon drool
Time and patience........ just chat to them all the time, and when you go past everynow and then give them a little treat....leave and if they come out whilst you're there that's great if not.........they will soon learn to trust you! x)

Abys are great characters but very lively :)) I have my eye on some at the moment.

Maybe use cuddle cups to pick them up/put them down, make sure you are sitting on the floor in their run or indoors if you are handling them. Someone on here said putting them back in their hutch/run bottom first helps too. Congratulations on your new arrivals :))

Congrats on your new piggles! Good advice by Farqhar and Poppy'sMum! Any pigtures?
