I myself is a brand new piggie mum. i never ever thought id own one and its not something thats crosses my mind before to be honest but I'm glad it did.

Just wondering if anyone else is new to this too? & how are ** lil ones settling in etc :)

How did those who are a pro at caring for piggies find it for them at first?

What made you get a piggie?

Xx

I'd had guinea pigs as a child and used to love holding them but that was all i did the rest of the care was my parents. It was only 5 years ago that i saw two beautiful guinea pig boys and i had to have them - well two soon turned into 6 and indoor cages soon turned into a shed, a bag of hay turned into a bale and my garden turned into a veggie patch! But my word they are the best pets on the planet, so cheeky and full of character, i've always said i can't live without a dog, truth is i couldnt live without a guinea pig either :)

Hi, I've had my guinea pigs for about 5 months now (time does fly!) but still feel very new to the piggie world. :)

At first I used to be very worried/anxious about how they were doing and would take ages cleaning their cage etc. because I just wasn't used to it, but once you get used to your piggies and routine everything becomes alot easier. :)

My girls still aren't that tame though (they live in a hutch in a shed outside) and only my girl Milly let me stroke her but they both will take food from my hands and will stand up against the bars of their cage and wheek for veggies. :)

I got my piggies because they were the only pets my parents would allow and they have such gentle, inquisitive and sometimes cheeky characters. :))

I had a guinea pig as a child and then 26 years ago when I was 20 I got a pair who I thought were two sows and turned out to be one of each and before I knew it my piggy family was expanding at a rate of knots! Each and every one was well loved, but not replaced as they died and I haven't had anymore until September 2012, when I got Hamish my first skinny pig and his fuzzy friend Dougal. I wouldn't be without them. They are such cute little characters.

I think I got piggies originally because they were familiar (we had them at school) and placid creatures which were easy to care for. Not to mention cute. I'm not really sure what made me get my present two, except that I saw a pic of a skinny pig and fell in love! x)

I had my first piggies when i was a child, always had rabbits then when my last one died my parents decided to get my a guinea pig, then when i was about 18 i took in a father and son pair who i had for nearly 9 years, after they died i decided to have a break. Then in december i was asked if i could take in my current 3 boys and of course i couldn't say no. I love piggies for the character they have and the little noises, its what you miss the most when they aren't around :)
