The Cavy Corner Fun Day happened today and it really was fun. I loved talking to various other piggy people and watching the judging - very good decisions there - and the piggy races were the slowest, most relaxed, most gently ambling if not standing still races I've ever seen! Lovely. I recommend going to one of these if you ever get the chance. I have pots of Sue's jam now, mmmmmm, and Wiebke's cheesecake was totally nommy!
Best of all though, after the event I gained a new little girl from Sue at Cavy Corner. She is now called Lily.
As soon as she got into the conservatory she was determined to be part of the little herd....she is on the left eating hay while they basically watch her with interest (Lily, Lola, Carmeline and Mina L to R)

Telling the world she was there as she wandered around...

Exploring the place...

Trying each bit of new stuff out....(and popcorning too)

Mina was very interested in her and followed her around a bit...then she followed Mina too...

And here she was relaxing with the others under the fleece just a few minutes ago...

She has sounded off twice. Short sharp high pitched noises which basically mean 'don't mess with me' and has been chuckleing nicely as she goes along to let the rest of them know where she is - chucklebooting I call it as she chuckles every time a foot hits the floor. She is the most chillaxed and confident newbie I have ever seen. If she goes on like this she may end up ruling the place once grown. She is only 590g right now.

What a lovely "picture story", warms the heart. And Lily is adorable x)

She's adorable, and I love the way she's made herself completely at home.

(It was good to see you today, and I totally agree about that cheesecake!)

Awwww, what a little cutie she is! She sounds like she has a fab pigsonality too :))

I'm so glad that Lily has settled in straight away, I've just had my 'special' piece of cheesecake for breakfast, mmmmmm. That's some wonderful green hay your piggies have there Sarah.

It's good stuff isn't it. Excel timothy hay with dandelion and marigold. Costs a bit, but I don't get too much wasted as it's in the blue plastic tray thingy. I'm giving them that because Carmilla died from a bladder stone and timothy hay is supposed to be lower in calcium. I read that anyhow. I'm worried Carmeline might have got calcium stacked up in her system too. I hope I read it right!

She is very pretty x) Congratulations, looks like she is settling in well.

She already looks right at home.
So pleased she has come to you.

It was a good day wasnt it..... With lots of highlights for me, the number of people who came, seeing "old" forum friends and making new ones, raising funds for the piggies and feeling so proud of all the Cavy Corner volunteers (many of whom are teenagers and younger) who worked so hard. Plus it was a joy seeing so many loving, caring owners who clearly cherished their pets (such a contrast to so many that we rescue of course)

We offered mini health checks and advice on how to check your own piggie to visitors and were able to identify a little pregnant guinea that had recently been acquired from a farm. The owner was greatfull for reassurance and advice.

For me the only low point was the person who stole the "Gaisy Mai" stunningly beautiful felted piggie from our auction preview table. We appealed for it to be returned but without success.

But still a really great day and when I finally have got everything unpacked and put away and had a little rest .....my thoughts will turn to what's next..... :)
Photos to follow soon.

Looking forward to photos - haven't seen any yet. And yes, it was a great day.

What a cutie! And what a sneaky woman... x)

It looks like Lily is determined to make a splash in her new home!
