Fizzgig

Hi everyone I am a first time piggy owner, we got Fizzgig on Friday but since then we were told by a few people that guinea pigs should be kept in at least pairs so we went back to the same place and got her a little friend this morning.

I am happy to report everything is going great so far there was abit of bum sniffing and nudging and that it was it.

I was just wondering what breeds and colours they were?

This is fizzgig

They are adorable! We are getting a friend for ours in a few weeks (when her mites have gone and the babies at the rescue are old enough). I am not clued up enough on colours etc yet but someone here will be able to help.

i think fizzgig is peruvian and the other a possible cross between two breeds?

They're gorgeous piggies! Sorry, I don't know enough about breeds and colours but there are lots of people on here who do :) I'm sure you'll get the answer soon.

I believe Fizzgig is a Chocolate and White Roan Abyssinian/ Peruvian x sow. Whereas, the sow without a name, is a Golden Agouti, Gold and White Abyssinian x sow.

They are gorgeous! Fizzgig is a peruvian, ours had the same sort of look as a baby...

and thats him in my avatar now!

I would guess at your other one being a cross between a Peruvian and an Abbysinnian, but I could be wrong.

Either way, they are both very cute!

woah! his hair is mad lol, maybe I can trim hers to keep the same style as she gets older lol

yup. abysinnian cross peruvian for Fizzgig
abysinnian for your new friend

they are beautiful!

Welcome to the Forum Fizzgig and the wonderful world of piggy owning. I guarantee it won't be long before you're a piggy slave like the rest of us. And, trust me, what you don't know about hay right now...................LOL

I bow to the better judgment of those who have varietied (is that a word?) your babies but just wanted to say that I think they are stunningly beautiful and my Bill and Ben send much love and welcome wheeks to your girls.

I am getting confused now some of you are saying pervuian for Fizzgig and some are saying pervuian cross? I thought difference between a magpie and a roan were that in roan the white isnt on the head or bottom and she has white on both the head and the bottom?

Sorrry just abit confused with the different opinions@)

Fizzgig does not appear to have the two rosettes on her rump, and her fur does not appear to be 'sweeping' forward, like that of a Peruvian. Therefore, Fizzgig is likely to be a Abyssinian/Peruvian x (Abyruvian).

In reference to Fizzgig's colour, it is difficult to determine the colouring of Peruvians, or Peruvian x, as their standard allows them to be shown in any colour or mixture of colours. However, Fizzgig is not a Magpie. Roaning in Peruvians is different to that of roaning in other breeds. I am undecided on Fizzgig's colour, whether she is a Chocolate/ White Roan or simply a Chocolate/White Abyssinian/ Peruvian x. Unfortunately, I cannot decide between the two as I cannot see her 'in the flesh', so to speak. :)
