Hello! I'm new, although I've been reading for a long while!

I'm wondering if anyone can advise me regarding C&C cages. Basically I would like to move from a Ferplast 160 to C&C grids but the combined width of the grids would be 70cm, causing an overhang of 10cm on the platform they are currently on (It's actually a kitchen worktop in my utility room).
So I'm wondering how strong the Corex bottoms are? Do I need to put down a sheet of wood first to stand it on or should I move it altogether? Does anyone have an overhang?
I can't have a floor set up due to a bad back.
Thanks! (Hope I've put this in the right place?)

You can create a base out of the grids and with correx on top, the base would be strong. That amount of overhang would be safe, unless the worktop surface is slippy, in which case I'd put rubber matting or something on it. An enthusiastic child and a c and c age on a slippy surface can be a recipe for heart in mouth.
Hopefully your piggies will enjoy the new cage! I have my c and c cage on a stand made of grids, as my back isn't good with floor level.

I would definitely put something underneath as support and to bridge the gap - either a piece of wood, or extra grids, and then out the correx on top.

I'm not sure though what your grids are like, mine don't go under the correx, so you'd need to get enough to create a bottom, and then put the correx on top of that..

Thank you all that's brilliant, it didn't occur to me to use extra grids I was thinking I'd be off the the diy store for a big sheet of wood!

If you could also cable tie the cage onto something on the wall, that'd be even better.
Yes I've got a bookcase anchor set I could use to clip it onto the wall, as I although the children aren't allowed to get them out themselves yet I can see that being a problem!

Grids can be cable tied together overlapping to make a stronger base overhang or also to make a support stand panel from the overhang to the floor. Overlapping grids means you can make a stand / support panel of any height.
