Ginny has found a new way of letting me know she wants something.
They have 2 ceramic bowls, one for pellets, one for treats, forage, redigrass etc. Ginny has discovered if she chews on the edge of one it makes a noise and gets my attention.
I hear the strange noise, go to investigate, get the mornful "my dish is empty" look. She chews edge of bowl again and looks at me. I get worried she'll damage her teeth so feed her!
I think I've just fallen for another dastardly trick to get more food!
She does amaze me how she can tell the difference between bag noises. If she hears the hay bag, she runs to the litter try ready. Pellet bag rustles, she's sat with feet up on the pellet bowl. Forage bag noise, she runs straight to the other bowl!
She also doesn't bother if the back door opens, but if the front door opens she goes mad.....that's where the clover is grown lol.
Luna just seems to wait until her sister tells her something is going on.

And the little knows just how to melt my heart. I was just stroking her in the cage when she did a hovercraft impression...you know the one, were they lower themselves to the floor and become a puddle. I guess she was enjoying a little massage. Where DO their bones go when they relax?

When I had Mr Ted and Mrs Fudge I used to have 2 ceramic bowls in the cage. About 4pm every day Mr Ted would start the bowl clinking routine. For such an agile pig it was astounding that he always bumped into them and knocked them together only from about 4pm each day. You could set your clock by the bowl clinking routine. He was gutted when we replaced one with a plastic bowl.

When my two were babies they learnt by accident that they could knock their pellet bowl over and roll it against their hay bowl and it made a annoying clinking sound which they then decided to use to their advantage to let mummy know they wanted food and all I could hear all day was "clink clink clink" until I was driven mad. Nowdays they are too lazy to do it thank god (and now they have pellet bowls they cant tip over) except now Patchy chews her wooden hidey all day instead. They will wheek up a storm whenever they hear my OH's noisy car come into the garage aswell.

Haha! My Mo chews the bars at the same times each day for food. I don't know how he knows what time it is but he does. And he will not stop chewing until his bowl is full. Lol

My lot just WHEEK. And WHEEK. And WHEEK. And WHEEK.

My OH gives in within 3 seconds.

If they hear me opening the nugget bin they all sit around the bowls with their paws on the rim ready for their nuggets.
