4 days ago my guinea pig gave birth to 3 piglets. Yesterday I noticed that one of the baby's eyes was smaller than the other eye, and cloudy.:(

It is only one eye, and this morning it was closed and crusty, I bathed it with saline solution (I have been since yesterday) and it opened again to its usual yet smaller self.

Should I continue bathing it, or take her/him to the vet?
She has hay to eat, could she have something in it?
Her other eye is fine, her nose isn't runny, Whats wrong?:...

Thank you.

She needs to see a vet, it's possible it's either an eye infection or signs of an upper respiratory infection (URI) :(
Either way vet treatment is the only way to get the antibiotics needed. You need to get her seen urgently, preferably today because of her young age. Eye infections can result in the loss of an eye & URI's can be fatal.

Cloudy eyes are quite common in newborns from the surface of the eye being damaged by in turned eyelids or curly eye lashes (esp rexoid breeds) rubbing the surface.

As there was also some crusting I would advise a vet trip for antibiotic eye drops, and so a URI can be hopefully ruled out.

If it is entropion (eyelid/lash rubbing) it usually clears up well as the pup grows, preventing infection setting in is important so that the eye is not permanently damaged.
